Part 2: JAW DROPPING details, Lush Organic Ceremony, and the an UNBELIEVABLE Ceremony Altar
Sometimes images speak louder than words…and for this blog post this couldn’t be even more true! I will not go too much into detail, and allow Darin Fong‘s AMAZING images speak for themselves! Kelly and Regan’s Organic wedding at the Lodge at Torrey Pines was one that I will never forget. The Ceremony details were jaw-dropping (to say the least!) and total eye candy. Karen Tran did an unbelievable job taking the idea of a “Rustic” wedding and turned it into an over-the-top LUSH Botanical Art! The altar alone, took over 8 hours to construct and design (with 4 designers!). I think this is one of my most favorite altars (ever!). The details and the amount of flowers wildly dancing about is incredible. The Aisle Petal path was a new design for Karen, extending past the chairs and creating again, ART on the grass! I loved all of the terrariums lining the aisle, filled with drift woods, touches of succulents, moss, other organic elements. AND just wait until you see the Placecard table….WHOLLY MOLLY!! You will swoon over this beauty!
Tangerine, Lime and stark White are such a beautiful mixture, BOLD and Stunning. Adding Colbalt, a new “blue obsession” right now in the wedding world, ignites this VIVID color palette. Talk about a “Color Crush”! We are madly in-love with these HOT, vibrant hues and this fun-loving couple! ENJOY!
Next up…a Karen Tran awe’s us again with a Stunning Head table, a Cool and Modern Styled dance floor by Platinum Pro, and more…
Until Next time,
XOXO, Emily

PART 1: The Venue and Getting Ready STYLE:
San Diego is full of spectacular destination Wedding Locations! We are so lucky to have so many gorgeous venus and amazing views! For Kelly and Regan, having a destination in San Diego was a perfect fit! I originally met Kelly’s mom, Diane, before ever meeting Kelly (or Regan). We immediately hit it off!! I knew that if I loved her mom, Kelly, would be just as fun!! They were a lively group that loved vibrant color, but their style “together” was a mixture of Modern and Rustic. They selected The Lodge at Torrey Pines as their venue (not to mention that the groom LOVES Golf!), which was the perfect fit for what they were looking for! The Five Diamond Resort is more of a boutique style venue, only hosting one wedding a day! This was perfect for the Butler family, as they wanted a more private and family geared affair. The Lodge is situated on the cliffs of Torrey Pines with spectacular Golf Course and Ocean views! The Terrace where Kelly and Regan wed, is really just a blank canvas for any decor and design; we knew that their “Rustic” look would fit very well with the hotels craftsman style. Florist/Designer; Karen Tran, was later brought on to work with us on the overall design and beautiful floral-scape. Her amazing work is seen all over California (and beyond) and was the perfect fit for providing a beautiful (lush!!) Botanical and Organic wedding! (They LOVE FLOWERS!!)
Wedding Day Style: Our gorgeous BRIDE graced the aisle in a beautiful Vera Wang gown, which she selected from Bliss Bride in La Jolla. Her strapless gown was a fitted trumpet style gown, silk, with Organza “layers”. Her look was very classic, and clean. Her Bouquet is also very classic: white, with Gardenia’s, Roses, white Calla Lilies and Ranuculus. Her BRIDESMAIDS also wore Vera Wang: a knee length, in Royal Blue/Colbalt blue. The bridesmaids carried gorgeous, lush, bouquets consisting of Lime Green Cymbidium Orchids, white Ranuculus and Roses. The GROOM and GROOMSMEN wore custom, light Tan suits with lime green ties (gifts from the Bride and Groom).
Darin Fong among many other talented vendors (Blue Pearl, Platinum Pro) were also brought in to make this an “A-List” wedding! I look forward to sharing many more gorgeous images and more details on this fun and vibrant Botanical and Organic wedding!
Until Next time!
XOXO, Emily

Happy Monday! I am excited to be posting this next wedding! This gorgeous Lodge at Torrey Pines wedding is what we would call an “Organic” or “Rustic” settting! But just because its organic and rustic, doesnt mean that it cant be LUSH! The eminent floral designer, Karen Tran, proves just that! The ceremony details are one of my favorite, and I am so thrilled to give you this {SNEAK PEAK} photo from Darin Fong!! Check back later this week for more details!

From the posts below, you saw the gorgeous, OVE R THE TOP, details for Kelsey and Jeff’s beach wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado. Now its time to break it all down and dissect…who were all the lovely people/vendors there to make it all happen? What gown did she wear? How were the colors selected, etc. My goal for “the STYLE defined” is to answer questions like these about each event I post. Many brides want to know all the juicy details of how and what makes up such gorgeous weddings; and I LOVE sharing them!!
Kelsey and Jeff were attracted to Bright, Vibrant and Stark colors. So selecting 1 or 2 colors for their wedding pallet really wasn’t an option. Kelsey LOVES color and and texture so bringing in multiple layers of lush floral and elements is what made her beach style wedding work. Kelsey and Jeff also loved clean and crisp so we had to marry these to concepts together. In my first design meeting with Kelsey and Jeff they said that they LOVE LOVE LOVE orchids. Well, who better to do the job for them than the “orchid queen” herself, Karen Tran! She is known for her over the top spillage of orchids. Every part of the wedding incorporated orchids, this was so important to them! Although they wanted their Beach wedding not to be too FORMAL, they did want it to be very chic. The lush and abundance of florals assisted in making the event more sophisticated and refined. Adding in the AMAZING, one of a Kind, Custom Zig Zag Dance floor (provided by Platinum Pro, Inc.) also made this wedding CHIC, HIP and Modern! PERFECTION!
THE DRESS: When Kelsey and I discussed her wedding dress, we talked about all types of styles, formalities, her personality and the look that she wanted to portray on her wedding day. For Kelsey, she didnt want to feel stuffy or confined. She didnt want lace or ‘bling’. Kelsey’s 2011 ENZOANI (“FABI”) Dress was the ideal fit. The chiffon fabric allowed for a more flowy feel, perfect for a beachside wedding. The sweetheart neckline was also an important detail for Kelsey’s gown. In my opinion, everyone looks great in a Sweetheart neckline! It accentuates collar bones, giving you a longer more lean upper body look. Great look, Kelsey!
THE BRIDESMAIDS: Picking the perfect bridesmaids dress is always so difficult for every bride. We want trendy and hip, but also classy and timeless. COLOR is also such a huge deciding factor when picking what works best for your event. For this beach wedding, the AMSALE dress with the chiffon fabric was decided to be the best fit. It allowed for the “flowy” and “airy” look that Kelsey desired for the ceremony. Not too casual, but also not too formal. Since our florals were going to be an abundance of color and texture, the dark Teal was a beautiful base and backdrop to make all the other color POP! Its also a very attractive color for most skin tones, flattering most body types.
THE GROOM/GROOMSMEN: Keeping with the look and feel of this event, Jeff too wanted to be FORMAL but not Stuffy. He personally has fabulous style, so this was a no brainer for him. Suits it was! Gorgeous and colorful ties made this look flow beautifully with the girls. And the GRAY was stunning. Its nice to have a more muted color other than black. Black can be very harsh and with these color tones, the gray was perfect. I love that the guys also showed off their FUN and Hip, Surfer style by sporting their VANS! Way cool!
A huge thank you to ALL of the wonderful vendors involved. What a fabulous day it was and I was so thankful to be a contributing part in it all.
