the STYLE defined {Kelsey and Jeff ~ Beach Wedding}

From the posts below, you saw the gorgeous, OVE R THE TOP, details for Kelsey and Jeff’s beach wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado. Now its time to break it all down and dissect…who were all the lovely people/vendors there to make it all happen? What gown did she wear? How were the colors selected, etc. My goal for “the STYLE defined” is to answer questions like these  about each event I post. Many brides want to know all the juicy details of how and what makes up such gorgeous weddings; and I LOVE sharing them!!

Kelsey and Jeff were attracted to Bright, Vibrant and Stark colors. So selecting 1 or 2 colors for their wedding pallet really wasn’t an option. Kelsey LOVES color and and texture so bringing in multiple layers of lush floral and elements is what made her beach style wedding work. Kelsey and Jeff also loved clean and crisp  so we had to marry these to concepts together. In my first design meeting with Kelsey and Jeff they said that they LOVE LOVE LOVE orchids. Well, who better to do the job for them than the “orchid queen” herself, Karen Tran! She is known for her over the top spillage of orchids.  Every part of the wedding incorporated orchids, this was  so important to them! Although they wanted their Beach wedding not to be too FORMAL, they did want it to be very chic. The lush and abundance of florals assisted in making the event more sophisticated and refined.  Adding in the AMAZING, one of a Kind, Custom Zig Zag Dance floor (provided by Platinum Pro, Inc.) also made this wedding CHIC, HIP and Modern! PERFECTION!

THE DRESS:  When Kelsey and I discussed her wedding dress, we talked about all types of styles, formalities, her personality and the look that she wanted to portray on her wedding day. For Kelsey, she didnt want to feel stuffy or confined. She didnt want lace or ‘bling’. Kelsey’s 2011 ENZOANI (“FABI”) Dress was the ideal fit. The chiffon fabric allowed for a more flowy feel, perfect for a beachside wedding. The sweetheart neckline was also an important detail for Kelsey’s gown. In my opinion, everyone looks great in a Sweetheart neckline! It accentuates collar bones, giving you a longer more lean upper body look. Great look, Kelsey!

THE BRIDESMAIDS: Picking the perfect bridesmaids dress is always so difficult for every bride. We want trendy and hip, but also classy and timeless. COLOR is also such a huge deciding factor when picking what works best for your event. For this beach wedding, the AMSALE  dress with the chiffon fabric was decided to be the best fit. It allowed for the “flowy” and “airy” look that Kelsey desired for the ceremony. Not too casual, but also not too formal. Since our florals were going to be an abundance of color and texture, the dark Teal was a beautiful base and backdrop to make all the other color POP! Its also a very attractive color for  most skin tones, flattering most body types.

THE GROOM/GROOMSMEN: Keeping with the look and feel of this event, Jeff too wanted to be FORMAL but not Stuffy. He personally has fabulous style, so this was a no brainer for him. Suits it was! Gorgeous and colorful ties made this look flow beautifully with the girls. And the GRAY was stunning. Its nice to have a more muted color other than black. Black can be very harsh and with these color tones, the gray was perfect. I love that the guys also showed off their FUN and Hip, Surfer style by sporting their VANS! Way cool!

A huge thank you to ALL of the wonderful vendors involved. What a fabulous day it was and I was so thankful to be a contributing part in it all.

Hotel Del Coronado: Vibrant Crown Balloom Reception {Kelsey + Jeff}

Part 3: Saving the Best for last…the SPECTACULAR and Vibrant Crown Ballroom Reception at Hotel Del Coronado

This Seaside wedding was nothing short of fabulous! With all of the gorgeous ceremony details and the spectacular floral; Karen Tran delivers an OVER -THE -TOP event that was one to drool over! In the Crown Ballroom, the reception was dripping in white phalaenopsis orchids, cymbidium orchids, tulips and manzanita trees laced with succulents and string of pearl succulents. The color pairing of Teal, Raspberry, Mandrin Orange and stark white was crisp and stark against the mahogony wood walls of the magnificent ballroom. The lush centerpieces and the killer head table had everyone “ooing” and “ahhing”!! Thank you, Karen Tran, for being such an amazing talent!

Further enhancing this spectacular wedding, Platinum Pro provided a white seamless custom dance floor made special for this wedding! The White Zig-Zag Dance floor played a huge and vital roll in the look and feel of this event! The bride and groom did not want a “stuffy” wedding, they wanted an open flow, and of course a cool and hip vibe– like they are! The Zig-Zag was the perfect approach to this event style. Modern and chic, with white lounge furniture on either side for comfort (which was so cool)!! It allowed guests to party on the floor AND a place for guests to hang when not dancing! It was perfect for this group! Platinum Pro also provided the gorgeous lighting that was controlled later in the evening to go to the beats and sounds of DJ Justin Kanoya. This Party was Rockn’ all night long!! (even a “douggie dance-off”!!)

The clients wanted an “open flow” style party so recommending food stations was ideal. It allowed their guests to enjoy a variety of food options! This was what we took to heart when planning this dinner and dance reception. We met with the chefs at the Hotel Del and they custom designed a wedding menu with stations the represented places, countries and ethnicities from around the world! Guest got “A taste of Italy”, “Surf and Sea” and more! It made for an amazing experience for all those involved, a detail that their guests will never forget! Guests were wined and dined whiling listening to the sounds of the renowned Sirius Coffee House sensation: Lee Coulter!! His rendition of Jason Meraz was one we will always remember!!

The talented Youngrens, Erin and Jeff and Side by Side video (video is still yet to come!)  were amazing to work with and I look forward to many more opportunities for them to capture moments like these! And much love to our beautiful couple; Kelsey and Jeff and their amazing Coronado beach wedding!

Stunning Beachside Wedding Ceremony: Hotel Del Coronado {Kelsey + Jeff}

Part 2: The gorgeous Ceremony and Cocktail Reception on the Windsor Lawn, Hotel Del Coronado

After seeing all of the gorgeous Getting Ready and “First Look” images provided by the Youngrens, wait until you see these next set of beautiful photographs! Kelsey and Jeff wed on the Hotel Del’s historic Windsor Lawn, where the Pacific Ocean was the perfect backdrop for this romantic beachside wedding ceremony! Karen Tran‘s FRESH, vibrant floral approach is striking! A more modern approach to the seaside look, Karen Tran uses an abundance of orchids (which by the way were the clients favorite) weaved into the branches of manzanita and drift wood to portray this beachside-esque look that they desired. Kelsey and Jeff wanted to continue this “beach” feel by adding touches of seashells and of course, a custom made surfboard as their guest book! (this was a thoughtful for this couple made just for this special day!) But my favorite, was the stunning and vibrant place card table! The striking sherbet orange with mixes of raspberry and lime are the perfect color combination for this very chic beach wedding.

Once again, you will experience the raw emotion of love as this beautiful couple exchange their wedding vows amongst family and friends in this perfect setting at the Hotel Del Coronado. Nothing could be more perfect for this lovely couple!

Until next time!

And what better place, than the Hotel Del Coronado! Its magnificent ocean views,  fabulous ballroom, and romantic history; it was the perfect setting for Kelsey and Jeff. As their family and friends all came to town to enjoy the weekends festivites; they started off with a fun adventure -aka: Rehearsal Dinner– to the San Diego Zoo! Dinner was held at the Tree Top and guest wined and dined after spending the afternoon around the Park! On the morning of the wedding; Kelsey was surrounded by her bridesmaids, mothers, and girlfriends as she prepared for the biggest day of her life!!

Wedding day Style:  Bride is wearing an 2011 Enzoani, chiffon dress, Sweetheart neckline  Bridesmaids are wearing a Chiffon Amsale knee-length dress in a dark Teal shade. (and of course their totally awesome VANS shoes!!! and Killer matching watches!) This group of guys and gals were killing it with style!

Love at “First Glance”: Many brides question whether seeing each other prior to the ceremony is a great idea or not…you will see in the images below that even though our groom Jeff didn’t see his bride walking down the aisle for the first time, his reaction is still the same! CLASSIC! And genuine! (it gives me chills seeing the emotion expressed and captured by the incredibly talented  Erin and Jeff Youngren!) I love that they got to share in this moment together, and we get to experience it through these beautiful images!!
